Prayer and Spiritual Formation

Following Jesus is a lifelong journey into the very center of our lives.  Adult classes provide the opportunity to develop a closer relationship with God by dwelling in scripture, thinking on our lives and our world, and conversing on what it means to live with God. Through Sunday classes, small groups, and other opportunities for growth, we seek formation by God to be a community that reflects God's love in the world.

Recent studies have included:

  • The Letter to the Philippians
  • The Celebration of Discipline, by Richard Foster
  • The Jesus Creed, by Scot McKnight

Currently, we have several programs offered on a regular basis. (See details on Small Groups.)

Day Time Activity
Sunday 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. Intergenerational Sunday School
Wednesday 6:30 a.m. Men’s Fellowship and Bible Study
Saturday 8 a.m. Alternating Saturdays:
Men’s Bible Study

We have sponsored many events for the community, including a live concert by Michael Card, a rally with an evangelical Christian missionary who serves in the Middle East and our Men’s Ministry serving dinner to the City Mission.

In developing studies and programs for the church, we have leaned heavily on outside resources such as:

  • The Bible
  • Start>Becoming a Good Samaritan, narrated by John Ortberg
  • Celebration of Discipline, by Richard Foster
  • The Jesus Creed, by Scot McKnight

Through our Adult Ministries programs, members and friends have been able to grow and apply to daily situations things to which they were awakened as a result of the studies, whether it be to stop and lend a hand to someone whose car had broken down, to offering assistance or even just a smile or kind word to one whose troubles were in plain sight.
